At Rödl & Partner Lithuania, our diverse and dynamic team is one of our greatest strengths. Among our talented group of accountants, Linas Janavičius stands out - not just for his expertise, but as the only male in a team of highly skilled women. Celebrating his 5-year work anniversary, he reflects on his journey, the lessons learned, and how he has embraced his exceptional role within such a supportive and collaborative environment.

Looking back at your journey over the past five years, what has been the most rewarding aspect of your role as an accountant in Rödl & Partner Lithuania?

Over the past five years, the most rewarding aspect has been the chance to work alongside some of the most talented and dedicated accounting professionals. I have had the opportunity to continually sharpen my skills, dive deep into complex tasks, and grow alongside colleagues who constantly inspire me. But beyond just the technical side, it is the environment here that truly stands out. It is a place where I have been able to develop not only as an accountant but as a professional, with the support of my incredible team.

What does celebrating your five-year professional anniversary mean to you personally?

Reaching the five-year mark feels like a moment of reflection. Time has flown by, but it has also been a clear sign that I am doing something that excites me every day. If time at work passes quickly, it means I am in the right place. Looking back, the journey has been full of personal growth, and I am eager for what the future holds - especially when you are part of a team that makes work enjoyable and motivating!

Being the only male accountant in our company - and given that accounting is often seen as a female-dominated profession in Lithuania - how has this unique position influenced your experience, interactions, and perspective in the workplace?

It is definitely unique being the only male in an otherwise female-dominated accounting team. While accounting is often seen as a profession more commonly chosen by women, I do not see this as something strange. In fact, it has been an exceptional opportunity to be part of a close-knit, supportive, and highly skilled team of women who value collaboration, precision, and hard work. It is not just about being the “only male” - it is about the chance to contribute to and learn from a team that brings diverse perspectives to the table. It has been a rewarding experience, and I am proud to be a part of such a dynamic group.

What is one key lesson or skill you have gained during your time here that has significantly impacted your professional growth?

One of the things I truly value in accounting is the continuous learning. It is a profession where there is always something new to master. It is hard to point to just one lesson, but I have especially appreciated the chance to use English in a practical setting. It is not just about managing numbers - it is also about effectively communicating with international clients and colleagues. This has allowed me to grow both professionally and linguistically, sharpening my skills in ways I did not expect.

Every role comes with its challenges. Can you share a difficult situation you faced in your work and how you successfully navigated through it?

While I have not faced any particularly overwhelming situations, there are always moments that test you. When challenges arise, I tend to solve them independently, but I also know I have a team I can rely on for support. It is reassuring to work in an environment where help is always available when needed, and that sense of trust and teamwork makes navigating challenges that much easier.

How has the company culture and your colleagues influenced your experience and success here?

The company culture at Rödl & Partner is a perfect fit for me. What stands out is the level of autonomy I am given, which is a direct result of the trust placed in me. Tasks are assigned based on our individual strengths, and I appreciate that. My colleagues are not only skilled professionals but are genuinely friendly and supportive. Working here does not just feel like a job - it feels like being part of a team where everyone is working towards the same goals, and we celebrate each other's successes.

As you celebrate your 5-year professional anniversary, how do you see yourself growing further within the company? What would you like to wish for yourself in the next five years?

In the next five years, I hope to continue growing professionally, tackling new challenges, and expanding my knowledge. I want to share my experiences with my colleagues, contributing to the team’s collective success. I am excited to see how I can continue to develop both as an accountant and as part of this incredible team at Rödl & Partner.
